The TBR Committee

The group is run by a committee consisting of volunteers that are elected at the AGM (normally held in October each year). The current committee members are shown below alongside their role and an outline of what their role entails. Each role also explains the reasons that you may wish to contact that committee member, and provides an email address for the role.  You should also contact the committee if you have a problem or suggestion for improvement. Not all committee members check their email on a daily basis so, if you do not get an acknowledgement of the email within a couple of days, try contacting another committee member and asking them to prod the original member.

Chair: Paul Hardy

The Chair is responsible for:

  • Approving group weekends away and holidays.
  • Chairing the committee meetings.
  • The overall running of the group.

  • You're looking to organise a weekend away or holiday.
  • You need to talk to a committee member about something not covered on this page.

paulPaul joined TBR in early 2016 and, less than two years later, he is as surprised as anyone to find himself chairing the group. Rumour has it that Paul has only taken on this committee role in a vain attempt to become more popular than his small dog Toby, who accompanies him on many of the dog friendly TBR walks.

The Secretary is responsible for:

  • Taking the minutes at committee meetings.
  • Liaising with the area and national committees.

saraSara joined TBR in 2011. Having served on the committee as both Membership Secretary and Chair, she is now our Secretary. There’s nothing she’s happier doing than helping the committee members out! You’re most likely to find Sara wandering the Welsh Coastal Path or kicking back with a cheese board and a glass of red.

The Treasurer is responsible for:

  • Collecting money for group activities.
  • Maintaining the group accounts.

emmaAfter a couple of years of membership Emma was feeling guilty for not leading any walks but decided it was safer for everyone if she volunteered to be Treasurer, as she was less likely to lose TBR money than TBR members. Top of her Christmas list is for someone to invent glasses that enable you to see where you are going in the rain when half way across the Beacons.

Membership Secretary: Emma Louise

The Membership Secretary is responsible for:

  • Maintaining the group membership records.
  • Adding or removing people from the web site.

steveSteve spends most of his life on computers and joined TBR to get away from them at the weekend. The plan was going well until he admitted to working with them to his predecessor just before it was announced the committee was looking for a new Web Officer!  This is Steve's second year as Web Officer, having let himself be guilt-tripped into the role by two different Chairs!
